Hi

I have an 8ft Softtop that had a giant bubble. Probably caused by to much exposure of the sun. This normally shouldn’t be a problem because it’s a surfboard, right? It’s only 2 weeks old so it’s a bit sad. But does anyone here has a proper diy solution for this please? I’m on an island and sending it back to the manufacturer is not really an option…

Help is much appreciated!

Greetings

Definitely caused by too much sun, BTW any surfboard can self destruct by bubbles or delaminating if left in the sun, in a car in the sun or on a hot surface.
Advice will come but if surf shops or buying opportunities rare, care of your board is vital

"Damage to any AGIT product resulting from wear and tear, misuse, exposure to the sun, heat or elements, or simply caused by the demands of the board when in use, including but not limited to boards that are wrecked, snapped, punctured, scraped, broken, crushed, compressed, dented, and fins or straps that are broken or damaged, or any other damage or breakage of any kind that is not caused by a manufacturing or materials defect, is not covered at any time."

Luckily the bubble is on the deck not on the slick bottom. Just puncture the bubble and see how far it goes back down. Depending, you can shoot some hot glue or Spongrez. Some glues, like Gorilla glue might melt/burn the the EPS core. That's where repair technique comes into play. Should you make an inlet and outlet hole ? Should you just put down little areas at a time ?
