Softtop repair advice

Postby larsudb » Mon Mar 28, 2022 11:35 am

Dear all,

I recently bought a secondhand board for my sister to learn on. As you can see in the pictures, a piece of top foam is missing at the tail. I obviously want to repair this to prevent waterlogging. What would be my best bet to seal this quite large gap? Sponge rez says it is not suitable since the exposed core of this board is EPS.

Kind regards,

Lars

Hi Lars , buying the board for your sister was a nice thought, however I am pretty sure that board is dead with that huge damage near the tail.
The soft top material has entirely gone, busing another severely damaged board and doing a skin transplant might work.
Other forum members might have clear suggestions as much as I hate landfill and like recycling I feel this is too big a repair project
I know cheap is a relative term depending on your needs and wallet but there may be better boards around!

Doesn't seem to be "waterlogged" damaged/delaminated.

Seems that it fell victim to being a "Chew Toy" for someone's canine.

( unless your sister has really long toe nails ? )
