Hello,

Got two old (roughly 15yrs) foam surfboards out the in-laws shed the other day. One is in a bad way but hoping to repair. Can anyone recommend how to deal with any of the following issues:
- large bubble between slick underside and interior foam
- cracks / chips in slick
- crack in foam trimming (connecting slick to main body foam)
- trimming peeling away from slick and main body foam exposing interior

Having had another look it may be too big a job, which is a shame as the foam is in excellent condition considering its been in a shed for over a decade.

Any advice would be greatly appteciated. I will also post looking gor advice on the ither board which is in much better condition.

Many thanks,
Aaron

Some clamps and epoxy glue should do it, go to Home Depot. Make sure it’s epoxy or it will melt the foam

- large bubble between slick underside and interior foam: Hot glue
- cracks / chips in slick: Good polyester (Mylar) or vinyl sticker
- crack in foam trimming (connecting slick to main body foam): Hot glue
- trimming peeling away from slick and main body foam exposing interior: Hot glue

It is too big of a job but better than throwing it in the garbage to get a few last rides. It kicking a dying horse. Rails and slick will pop off after a few hard bottom turns and closeout impacts.

What ever you do, don't try to seal it up with duct tape ................ horrible gooey mess.
