Spiders on rails - watertight or?

Dang, why do these spider cracks always show up so fast. The board has not made contact with other boards - no collisions. It's always transported in a padded board bag when inside the car. I wonder if it's contact with the zipper.

Question: do the dark strands indicate water is leaking in? There are also some (resin? water?) droplets that are visible around the areas but those could be from resin. Knew this because other areas of the board also have these droplets under the top.

Just 1 or 2 crack lines catch nail tiny little bit.

There were also some stress lines around one of the spiders. Cannot feel when running fingers over so must be under the gloss coat. Read somewhere those could be caused by uneven gloss coats that are too thick.

It that is a polyester resin board then that’s just the way they are relatively fragile. Just a little bump on the rail and it shatters

The dark strands are left over pieces of ............ YOU. Bits of skin from you forearms or legs.

Question, what side are the shatters happening on ? Is it the same side as the arm you wear a watch on ?

See the dead skin in the fiber glass ?

Are the water / resin droplets you're talking about, actually air bubbles in the glass ?

Oh yeah, it's polyester resin.

WKK you're right....both cracks on the left rail, the side where I wear my watch. One of the cracks is near where my arm paddles, so it could....have been a collision with the watch? But I don't recall. The other crack is closer to the tail and is fairly below rail apex; not sure what's going on there.

Now that you mention, those droplets are air bubbles. Is this expected from a quality glass job?
