Surfboard Insurance

Hi there,

I am new to this forum but not to surfing. I have been surfing for several years now and had my fair share of broken boards and serious dings. Does anyone know if there are any surf-specific insurances out there? I am UK based and have come across Surfcare which is a US company and therefore no use for us over in the UK and EU. It seems crazy that for such a valued possession there is no safety net for when things go wrong.

D

Insurance for boards is quite rare, theft maybe, damage much less so, sometime board damage is included in a travel, package.
Because normal, usage and hazards can cause damage easily, not worth the risk for the insurance companies :D

A board would considered wear and tear and disposable ( environmentally not good).

Thanks for the response, I guess if you break a new board you will just have to buy another one.

That’s the general idea, with or without insurance . You can learn to repair most boards, but seriously for the planet and our pockets, some are just revivable, surprising some good repair candidates can be recovered by dumpster diving!
