Small crack in PU board

Hey all,

First time poster. Someone ditched their board in the water this morning, hitting mine and causing a small crack in my fairly new PU longboard. Bit frustrating, but was hoping to get some eyes on this and let me know if it seems to need repair? I've never repaired a board myself (still pretty new) so any advice would be appreciated. The crack doesn't seem to be deepl, but I'm honestly not sure.

YES, it needs to be repaired. How you go about getting it fixed is the dilemma.

For me I would:
Cut away any moving fiberglass with a utility blade/knife. ( being careful not to hit the weave )
Sand down the edges to make a slight beveled surface for the new resin to grab onto versus a 90 degree edge.
Roughen up the area around about a centimeter.
Tape off the area.
Put in Solarez UV curing resin gel. ( you can use a popscicle
( there is a method using a plastic sheet to cover the resin to make a smooth surface )
Put in sun light ( bright enough to cast a shadow ) for 10- 15 minutes
Check hardness and see if it needs more sun time.
Sand down using a wood block, not just your fingers.

Your ding should be easier to do than the one in the video as it's not as deep.

I do small repairs myself but if you want it to come out like it was never broken I would take it to a shop, they can clearcoat that and you will have a hard time noticing it was ever broken. Just make sure you tell them to color match and not to do a white repair

Looks like just the hot coat is cracked a bit, the fiberglass/weave intact.
