Moving up, ready to duck dive!

ok, I wanna move up and get out easier.
Can I get something easier to duck-dive and yet still stable?

1st board - BIC pop up

2nd board - 7'4" Bunty Mini-Mal. Just about duckable:

- old
- not very boyant
- bit of a dog but beginning to want to go back to it as can get to bigger waves.
- broken non-fcs fin :/

Current board - 7'11" big red:

- a beaut!
- stable in big waves due to massive fin and boyancy

- but the problem is getting to the waves; you just get washed back so you have to rely on gaps

Can I get something stable on the big waves yet duck dive-able? Would a thruster/gun with a big fin be this? Perhaps swappable for 3 fin for when I want more movability?

Or should I just get a basic thruster/gun and fall off alot?
