So... I was fixing the tail on my fish that had a crack in it. Unaware that this was an epoxy board I used poly resin like usual. I filled the crack with poly resin and melted the foam into what is now a much bigger ding than before.
Can I just order an epoxy repair kit and fix the now big ding? Or since there is poly resin on it do I need to get rid of it all before I use the epoxy repair kit?
Thanks!

I haven’t ever made that mistake. Has the resin hardened? Not sure but think if there’s good contact between the polyester resin and the foam and it hardened then you could probably fill in the deficit and glass over it. But perhaps wait to hear from someone who made that mistake

Yes, you can repair it now with epoxy resin. Depending on how much foam has been melted, you will need either some Q-cell filler or possibly a piece of foam to cut into shape and glued in.

BTW that's glued in with epoxy resin, not actual glue!
