(Un)fixable softboard?

Hi,

I have recently broken my softboard (because of a too strong wave?), resulting in a large cut as you can see on the photos. Do you think it is fixable? I went to a surf shop and was told that it is not, but I don't want to believe it :)

I'm not aware of any techniques to fix foamies (other than for minor cuts etc), certainly not anything that can fix severe damage like that. You could try spreading the crack (oo er) and and putting in some kind of paste (oo er), but realistically that board belongs in the bin in my opinion. It'll probably never ride very well any more.

If it is that broken, the structural parts in the board are probably broken too.
As much as I hate discarding plastics , the board is dead in the water!

Use a Hot Glue Gun to fill in the crack.

But if the wood stringers are cracked, the board will flex out and end up in two pieces anyways.
