Surfing Waves

So I've been on the lookout for a used beater board for some time now and I did find one but it is finless.

I would like to convert it to have fins, and I know catch surf has a pop-thru conversion. Is it possible to use this pop-thru fin but also use it with the fins removed?

I am worried that removing the fins like this frequently will make the fins loose after a while and quite possibly be bad for the board itself.

Thoughts?

I also just found this link which seems like it would be better than removing the entire pop fins.

I have the FCS I softboard plugs, I’ve never tried the FCSII type.
