Surfing Waves

My old wetsuit is starting to leak. It's a Rip Curl "E-Bomb." Pretty good except that the torso is a bit long (and the legs are a bit short). So it sags around the crotch area.

I've heard from others that Rip Curls tend to be cut that way. So does anybody know of wetsuit brands that are a bit longer in the limbs (I also have long arms) and shorter in torso?

Thank you to anyone who has experience with this stuff. I'd hate to make a road trip of going around to different shops and trying on all the brands.

Ha, funny, here is what I have discovered just from trying on size L wetsuit:

Ripcurl: Longer torso, arms and legs, which I like and use:
Xcel: About the same as ripcurl, slightly less lengths on arms and legs
Oneil: Shorter torso, and the armpits are cut in skinnier, not good for an big guy like me
Quicksilver: Legs seem short on me
Hurley: Too many seams on the arms, make them less flexible and too tight (either that or I'm buff, but probably not)

The new Ripcurl generation 5 flashbomb is on my radar right now, it seems even more flexible that before.

well.... you are completely wrong!

Actually, I agree. I do find ripcurl is slightly tight across the chest for me, Xcel is a lot better. But both are good for longer torsos, they keep your voice at the right pitch. O'neill I couldnt even get on. Quiksilver seemed really big in the belly, lots of rubber there, although I only tried one of their cheaper models.

I just buy Xcel because I know they fit me. But different models within the range fit very slightly differently. It might just be slightly different flexibility, or a different zip (I only have front zips) etc.

For OP if you buy higher end more flexible suits, usually having slightly different fits isnt too much of an issue after a few surfs as things stretch. If you buy lower end suits, fit is actually more important because you dont have the flexibility.

That said, TBH, you really need to try on suits until you find the ones that fit, then buy that for the next 5 years or until you are 10 kg heavier. Then do another round of fittings. As IB surfer and I both find, some suits dont fit around the chest/shoulders, even though they fit in the arms and legs. You wont really know until you try (take a plastic bag with you to help you slide the suit on better)
