Crease in new beginner board

Hi guys,

Need your advice. Just bought my first fiberglass board last week, and already had a lot of fun on it in the first two sessions. However, after last session I noticed two little cracks at both rails towards the tail. Later on I saw there was also a crease in between at the deck.

Really bummed about this happening after a week already, probably happened in a wipe out... What would your advice be to do, get it repaired completely or only fix the cracks at the rails? I bought the board for 400 AUD new.

Was the Board really brand new?
About the repair decision totally depends on the quality of the board,.
If it is a cheap board a Chinese pop out the rails may lack lapped fibreglass and the board failed there first then the board was creased , this is where the board will break!
Did you collide with anyone? Sometimes a collision can cause a drag type crease like you have!
Take it to a surf shop for a quote for repair.
If the glass job is suspect then this will occur elsewhere and again!

That looks like bad news, it looks like that board is about to buckle...definitely take it to a shop to at least get a quote.

It doesn't look like a PU board, what brand is it?

Take a look at the tip of the nose, ( or take of a photo of it to show us.

Yeah the board was brand new. I didn't collide with anyone on this board so that cannot be the cause. The nose looks fine, the only damage I can find is what is visible in the photo's above...

I don't think its a popular brand, I bought it from my surfschool in Perth and I think they only sell it there (https://www.cheapsurfboards.net/product/b-mini-mal/).

I'll take it to a surf shop for a repair quote. Thanks for the advice guys!

The link says it all = cheap surf boards, Anybody can get a container load of these from various “makers” in China or other parts of Asia.
You can even get your logo printed on them, sorry to say it you have - found out cheap doesn’t mean quality, .
Take it back to the shop, or ride it till it self destructs.
Before you buy again talk on the forum ,we know brands we would recommend/end happily, and not to make a sale! :D

Just thought I’d include the company’s warranty

Pretty much a standard warranty for any surfboard, BTW designed and tested in Australia is no indication of quality under your feet.
There can be good boards made in China there are also some really crappy ones too.
eBay gumtree, etc are full of the cheap one sold to surf tourists then on sold.
