Hi, Does anyone have a catch surf RNF? If so, thoughts on it as a daily driver for an intermediate surfer in 2 - 6' US east coast beach break? Thanks!

I would think the LOST RNF in “regular” Poly/PU construction would be your Daily Driver, and the Catch Surf RNF the one you bring out for fun on those days you don’t want to snap in half the “regular” one.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately the regular lost RNF is out of my price range. I do see some other used PU fish for sale, some for less than the catch surf RNF. Might go with one of these. Thanks again.

I had a catch surf 6’ skipper, pretty similar. My personal opinion is that those things are too corky/floaty for their length and rail line. As long as it’s not above your paddle/fitness/skill level, you’ll be better served with a PU or epoxy fish or groveler around here. Check out Jamboards or CL or visit your local shop for a secondhand treasure!

Thanks for the feedback on the skipper. Think I'm going to try and find a used PU or epoxy fish with a little less volume than the catch surf boards.

What is your “Go-To” board you currently ride ? What brand/model and L x W x T ?

I've been riding a 9'6 single fin longboard. Not who sure who made it or the dimensions, more of a beater, but it's about 28 lbs. Great for the small, summer surf we get in New England. When I was living in San Diego, I surfed a 6'3 custom Jeff McCallum twin keel fin fish.

Wow, a single fin Log on the east coast and a Twin keel Fish on the west coast. I guess you can run the gamut by getting a sponge too. You looking at the 5'11" or 6'5" RNF ?

I don't have the McCallum fish anymore. Sold it, when I first moved back east. Wish I didn't. Was initially thinking about 5'11 Catch Surf RNF, but at that price, & with the feedback I've gotten on this forum, I'm leaning towards a used epoxy or PU fish.
