Knick in the underside of my soft top!

Postby pauleonman » Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:19 pm

Hey guys, I've a small knick in the underside of my soft top! Trying to figure out the best way to repair and seal it off so water isn't getting in there!! Any tips? It's hard plastic there so a bit tough to get into.

Nice..love that Ben Gravy board!

I'd go glue gun personally dude..but make sure your glue gun doesn't touch the core.
Maybe a stanley blade to take off rough edges also

Bro my soft top is about 40% hot glue. It works fine as long as you really get it in there. If you just have it on the surface it pops off

Looks pretty deep. Best thing for fixing soft tops like this is kerosene and kindling. It's a 3 step process.

Build a small fire. Throw board on it. Then, get yourself a real surfboard!

In all seriousness, you could probably get away with some liberally applied ding tape:

Wow environmentalists would love that, but back in the day burning a board was a sure way to bring up the surf!
Either that or sacrifice a virgin into a volcano. No so sure fired these days.... scarcity of virgins and not every surf zone has volcanoes so forecast sites will have to suffice!
