water inside ding repair

Postby jorn188 » Fri Aug 16, 2019 2:12 pm

Hi guys,

After finishing the ding repair I noticed bubbles inside the resin. Should it be redone or is it fine like this? Also I noticed some scratches on the side of my board which im not sure of whether they are leaking or not ( I can scratch parts of glassing away with my nails) any tips on how to check this?

Thanks!

Question: why did you use just resin ( and cloth ) instead of building up the blank first with Q-cell or white filler ?

No idea actually. I'm still a beginner when it comes to ding repairs. Do you think I should let it get professionally fixed maybe?

No idea ? Will something or someone must have given you advice. Was this fixed with UV repair in a tube like Solarez or did you mix resin/catalyst and laminated fiberglass? Looks pretty nicely done for a first timer and seems water tight.
