Pu or epoxy

Postby JRK_77 » Fri Jul 26, 2019 4:13 pm

I have this surfboard that I bought used and i wanted to fix a few little songs, and I was wondering if it is PU or epoxy. Any help would be appreciated.

I went to the Channel island site and looked up the Al Merrick Mini (hybrid) and it says it is epoxy. So probably epoxy. That looks like a pretty decent ding on the rail for a beginner to fix. Rails are important because they take a lot of whacks so need to be repaired well. If you use epoxy it shouldn't eat up the blank if it's not an epoxy board so should be safe to use epoxy and probably is epoxy. Pu resin has a strong sweet smell when you sand it while epoxy has a mild epoxy smell reminds me of epoxy glue. Epoxy resin is much more resistant to sanding also.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
