I've decided to get myself a board with two fins cos life's too short not to try it! The thing is I don't really have a handle on what size I'm looking for because the shape of those boards is quite different to my usual thruster, so I get the impression that 6 feet of length (for example) would feel very different.
I like my thruster a lot, but the fact is I very rarely get to use it because I can only surf it when the waves are just right (maybe 3-4 foot with a bit of power). My paddle fitness is never gonna be great as I can't surf very often, and I'm after a twinny which can catch the smaller/weaker/mellower waves say 2-3 foot. At the moment, when faced with those kind of waves I take out my 7ft soft top, which is great for catching waves but not great for turns and fun stuff!
So what I would really like is for you folks who have experience of comparing different types of board to help me figure out what kind of dimensions/shape might work for me. My thruster doesn't have the dimensions marked on it (let alone volume!) but I've done some measuring and included some photos below to give an idea of the shape, rocker etc. I hope the gaffer tape doesn't make you cringe too hard!
My thruster:
Length: 6' 3"
Width: 20" or a fraction under
Thickness: 2 inches (ish - couldn't figure out an accurate way to measure!)
Under the photos are some examples of twin fins I've seen online and would like to know how they might compare in wave-catching ability. Obviously they will differ in how they feel/turn/manoeuvre, but since it's my first twin I'm not gonna get too bogged down in the finer points of that - the main thing is I will be able to ride the more modest waves and have a new experience/more fun than on the soft top. If it matters I weigh about 60kg, but it's really the comparison to my current board that I'm interested in.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spider-Twin- ... rk:12:pf:0 (at 6' 4" I'm guessing this would be a super wave catcher?)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Catch-Surf-B ... rk:16:pf:0 (this is kind of a joke entry, but I'm genuinely curious at the same time. You see videos of these being surfed in tiny waves, but I'm guessing the surfers are a lot fitter than me...)
Thanks for your help everyone!
