Apple Watch for surfing?

Has anybody tried Apple Watch for surfing? Does it survive the waves? Saw some videos on YouTube but they are not informative

Has to be an Apple Watch 2 or later which I have. Trust it for swimming and still water SUPing but surf, nah don’t want to risk it!

Many thanks! Almost recovered!
Tried my Apple Watch in the ocean! It’s f-working! Had a couple phone calls and a lot of texting. Not that much surfing though:)

Glad your back and your Apple Watch are ok , rinse both after a surf in fresh water, don’t forget to press the clean speakers blue drop,icon and turn bezel until your watch beeps

Dawn patrol! But it does not count strokes. At least, in my case. I could not have figured the settings properly though. As for wave count, it seems accurate.
