I want to remove a gopro (sticky) mount from my board. It's a foamie funboard, much like the wavestorms. However Im not sure if I should remove it, or if its going to rip off the "upper layer of paint" on the deck. Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing?

You could try orange oil sticky glue solvent, any sharp, scrapey thing risks damage, I m not too, sure about the solvent either. But it is probably the only thing I can think of.. Check out the FAQ s on the GoPro site

It's not very hard at all to spatula off a mount from a hard board. I wouldn't be able to promise it won't pull a little skin off a soft top, though. Do a little Googling. It might be easy enough. Mainly, decide which would bug you more, a GoPro mount that you don't need, or a bit of ripped surface on a foamie you may only be using three or four seasons.

I've popped a few off....just use the edge of a wax comb scraper, work it under the edge and they pop off pretty easy.

To take the emblems off of cars, I use fishing line. Use a slight bit of back and forth sawing action. I think that will be safer than a spatula or blade.

The fishing line idea is absolutely perfect.
