Thule surf racks..

Postby Jarv » Wed Jul 06, 2005 12:09 pm

Having lasted all of one trip and getting a new car I have decided to scrap my soft racks and get something a bit more stable.
My new car already comes with 2 bars across the roof so I have been looking at Thule surf racks to add onto these. I know Thule is pretty standard in Europe and maybe North America too?
Anyway I just wondered if anyone had any if they could point me to the model they recomend. I am looking at the 832 which seems to be for surf boards only (but looks a bit flimsy and without padding) or the 833 and 533 which seem to be windsurf mainly but surf too. I cannot work out the difference between the 833 and 533 either.
I have a longboard.

Cheers

I wouldn't bother mate.
just get some insulation piping or some velco & foam protectors and a decent set of tie-down straps.

Must less cost and far more versatile in case you want to to carry several boards...
