Wetsuit Caring

I've just bought my first wetsuit. I'm really satisfied with my purchase. It's a Ripcurl 3/2mm with really flexible sleeves, good for paddling and I've got it for 99€, seemed pretty fair.
I've been reading about how to properly take care of your wetsuit and I've some questions regarding long-time storage: What is the best way to store a wetsuit for a long time, i.e. during winter, when I won't be using it. In the specialized shop where bought it, they told me to fold it like this https://youtu.be/Mh-H1t4qWPk but my father-in-law, who dives for a living, keeps his wetsuits hanged all the time.
I live in NW Spain, lots of humidity to be expected, and it would be stored in my garage. What are your recomendations?
Thank you in advance!

Well, that video is for "Packing" your wetsuit in a box or plastic bag to send out. If you have the space, I would DRAPED the wetsuit over something with out sharp corners. On a hanger the shoulders take all the weight and get stretched out.

.... don't forget professional dry cleaning every 4 months and do not use your wet suit in the rain.

Use a coat hanger it has wide ends that will stop the wetsuit from stretching in the neck and shoulders.

You can buy wetsuit hangers, but don't hang from the shoulders. Drape the wetsuit through and hang from the waist

Chuck it in a bucket and leave it in that. Pull it out shake it off and Chuck it on. Buy a new one every 6 months 1 summer 1 winter.

Apply a liberal lathering of an anti fungal cream makes the bucketed wetsuit slide on more easily. If you keep the bucket in the back of your surf chariot buy lots of car deodorant thingies. FIXED.. authentic surfer smell.

Either you're filthy rich or work in the wetsuit industry ? Either way, the wetsuit manufacturers thank you for your advice.

To be fair I do tend to hang mine up if it's not being used for a day. Otherwise it stays in the bucket in the van.

Yes it does stink but it could be worse. Many years of bathroom training means I can't pee in the sea so at least it only smells damp.

What i did last winter was rinsing with water alone and then hang it on the backrest of a chair.

I just bought a brand new NEEDessensials wetsuit, I contacted them about using special shampoo for wetsuits, they told me to use water only...
