1100 miles w/ soft rack, boards still on car

I would just like to announce that a trip from San Francisco to LA and back with a rental car and soft rack, w/ one longboard and a 7' funboard, resulted in no damage to boards or car. Averaging 65-70 mph. I lost lots of sleep over this before going, mainly because I'm used to a hard rack, and a soft rack just felt inherently jerry-rigged to me. But for those with similar misgivings, here's your evidence.

The fact that Pismo and Morro were more or less blown out and surfing was a bust should not negate the success of the actual transport.

I probably logged 1000 miles with a soft rack with no problems (but not at an average of 65-70 mph maybe an top speed of 65 -70)...... I have typically lived within 30 minutes walk from the beach but might drive 25 miles one way to get to a break (the island is only 55 miles across)

Haven't had a lot of experience with hard racks (assuming the implant kind) but soft racks can also be surprisingly tight and unsaggy.

Speaking physically and not metaphorically, the soft racks dropped water all through my maes car today when it rained. Horrible. Hard racks sometimes have their time and place
