Second hand board with dings?

I have recently bought a second hand board for quite cheap. I was wondering what brand it is and if it is worth anything?

The board has quite a few dings some bigger than others. Any repair kits that would be good? Also I'm not too sure if it is a epoxy or polyester board.

Any help would be grateful

It looks very old and very damaged. You can repair the digs but it looks like it will fall apart if you surf on it. If it was for a dollar it might be worth fixing the dings yourself and seeing how long it lasts otherwise I would say you paid too much for it

Why do you say that it will fall apart if I surf in it?

The foam looks old and likely will result it delaminations when you apply pressure to the deck or anywhere else. The foam underneath will crumble leaving a gap between the foam and the glass causing the glass to develop new holes that will absorb more water causing more deterioration of the foam etc

Hawaiian Island Creations. Look on the stringer to see who the shaper was. With those glass on fins and graphics, I'd say about 20 +/- years old. Repairs materials will cost more than the board is worth ( and way more than you paid ). Squeeze some UV curing resin like Solarez or quik-fix, smooth it out, put it in the sun, go surf. ( or just Duct tape it ).
Live and learn. By the way, how much was it ?

Oh, most likely it's Poly/PU and not EPS/Epoxy. They didn't use that construction much way back then.

You could repair it as W-Chan described, sand it smooth, and paint it as an art project, use it as a wall or garden decoration and sell it for profit as a piece of art. If the board was to intended to be used for surfing, it would be worthless.

It's not worthless but it isn't worth £20. It's just not going to last long as a surfboard in the ocean and the question remains if the Sunnystart1 could learn to use the board before it falls apart? We haven't heard if Ss1 can surf or intends to surf or how big it is or what size boards was Ss1 is using or how big Ss1 is. But if they intended to surf it then too bad they didn't ask our advice before purchasing. Still it might last for a little while. Cheaper than renting a board probably but maybe not the right board for Sunnystart1
