Can anyone identify this circle one board?

Postby spon » Tue Apr 11, 2017 10:29 am

Hi guys and gals, new member here looking to get back into the scene.

I recently picked up this board but don't really have any info on it.

Just wondering if anyone recognises it?
(Hopefully pics will upload okay)

Cheers.

What info are you after? Circle one is a UK brand, generally toward the cheaper end but has been around for a long time so quality seems good. It's a squashtail mini mal model; probably epoxy. should be fine for most lighter beginners or advanced beginners

Thanks for the reply.
Was looking to find out what model it is so I can Google to get the actual specs of it.
Thanks.

See if you can see the specs near the stringer on the bottom towards the tail :D

yes, looks like something is written along the stringer (the wood bit that goes up the middle of the board) on the bottom of the board. Circle One started in 1969, so its might be a board released maybe 2009 as an 'anniversary' model (or that may be completely wrong!). Age doesnt matter too much anyway.

Ah I know that board! That was my first surfboard.

So I don't believe it had a name - think it was just sold as a 7'3 Funboard, and was epoxy construction.

I bought mine in 2006, but the pictured one is a bit older, as they changed the designs that year. I'd test drove the design pictured for a weekend, so I'd guess yours is circa 2005. I doubt you'll find any specs on it given the age.

Anyway - was a great board to progress on and sturdy as hell.
