How to fix a fin impact ???

Hello everyone this is my first post in the forum!

On a recent surf trip, all fault to my own got a little close to another surfer which has caused a very nasty gouge in the rail of my board !

The question is how would I go about fixing this ?
I've seen repair kits with qcell filler could i just use this to fill in the hole and glass over the top ?
Is this something I should really attempt or should i get it to a professional surf board repair shop? ( Problem being I'm based in Worcester miles away from surf shops )
Thank you in advance

Basics of ding repair
first make sure you know what type of resin and foam your board has
get the appropriate materials to fix it
remove and cut away all damaged fiberglass and foam
sand it down for at least a couple inches around the damage
tape it off to avoid getting resin on the rest of your board
get qcell and mix with appropriate type of resin and fill in the hole a few ways to do this use multiple fills or create a form to hold the resin till it hardens then sand that filler down to the glass and glass over then put a sanding coat and finish.
alternatively you could use epoxy putty filler instead of qcell/resin, it's dark but it's easy to use

Make sure you clean off the wax well away from your repair zone :D
