Storing wetsuit in shed?

Hi since I got a good fitting wetsuit I want it to last so I was wondering if it would be ok stored in the shed? Not allowed in my closet because my mom is strict on that. I have it hanging in the shed on a wide hanger and there is a window in the shed. Will this be considered direct sunlight and degrade the neoprene? The window is right beside the wetsuit where it us handing but the wetsuit isn't in front of the window it's beside it so it gets some shade. I'll try to explain it better. The shed is I walk in the door there's hangers on the right and then there's the window on the same wall as the hangers. Hope that explains it enough.

If the window faces north I wouldn't worry too much. Otherwise maybe cover the wetsuit with a towel or something? My family wouldn't want me hanging my wetsuits inside so you are not alone. Glad to know you've found a wetsuit that fits you!

I think the window is West facing unfortunately. But there are apple trees outside the window which provide some shade I think so should be ok. The wetsuit is right beside the window and doesn't get the light shinning straight through the window.

Even with a wide hanger, it is still being hanged from the shoulders. Stretching and thinning out the area. All the weight from the legs, torso and arms are directed right to those two points. So best is to DRAPE it over something at the waist. Not over a laundry line, but PVC pipe or pole.

Or drape it through the hanger so it hangs from the waist not the shoulders. I have a 'wetsuit hangar' which is a normal hanged but about an inch and a bit wide on the 'cross beam'. Not that it's necessary, it came free with the wetsuit

My shed sometimes has my two wetsuits and my kids two wetsuits all hanging up at the same time

I drape mine over three of these Image stacked crates in a dark part of my garage. If you're really worried about the sun, then put a sheet over the shed window.

In high school I got chased by a store manager after taking a milk carton container outside the shop. My friend told me they were free so I took one and as I'm driving out of the parking lot I see this guy running me down. I figured it was best to keep on moving at that point. Nowadays I buy them at Target for $2.

I do hang it from the waist because I did think myself that it would stretch out at the shoulders.

No matter how gentle and caring you are for a wetsuit, it won't last over a year, I've had mine for 6 months and it's getting tears near my chest and elbows, not to the point that water gets in, but it's getting there, but yeah sun light does play a huge factor in neoprene damage, covering your wetsuit with a towel isn't an option unless it's dry or else you'll have bacteria farming there and have a disgusting smelling suit, so just cover the window I guess

I'm pretty sure the reason it's also tearing is my tiny investment of $170 for the wetsuit though there were higher quality ones that cost $300, I couldn't possibly spend that much at the moment :?

My wetsuits last for years, freshwater rinse after each surf hung on a wide thing in the shade under a tree before hanging in garage and a trug bucket to and from surf. No fug smell the hanging things are thick enough to allow air to circulate around all surfaces.

They say that high performance 300 dollar wetsuit are even less durable and last less.

Mine is dying only after more than too years of harsh conditions. However, I almost always rinsed and even used shampoo five times or so after leaving it wet in my car trunk overnight without rinsing.
And it helps if you have more than one wetsuit.

I did not use regular hair shampoo. It was special wetsuit shampoo.
