Surfing Waves

Hello, would really appreciate some help!
I am a total newcomer to surfing and have just bought my first surfboard, the board arrived with the leash plug missing. I contacted the company who sent out a plug but they sent the wrong one and it's too big!! I'm desperate to try my new board tomorrow, is it ok to use the board once without the Leash plug until it arrives? Or will the board be damaged by water getting on the hole where the plug should be?

I assume thats a soft board and the other plugs are to screw in the fins?

In any case, I can't see that the plugs are waterproof and will let water into the holes anyway (even if they are there) so presumably there should be no issue if you surf without a plug. Does that mean you are surfing without a leash?

That looks ok to me to string a leash cord through......what's the issue?

And what is going to be on the other end on the string ?

When you wipe out over the front of the board, what do you think will happen to that string ?

Yeah you should probably want to get one of those railsavers or whatever the surf shops calls them, it's a string that can stand a lot of pull and acts like a rubber band

the inner core of the foam can get waterlogged. It's not advised to go without that hole plugged. get a bodyboard leash plug at least:

String the hole and attach the leash to the string.

So you put the Leash/Leg Rope/Leggy/Kook cord's string into the hole, then what ? The hole goes straight thru to the other side. That is why I asked the question. Is there just going to be a big knot to hold it from coming out ?

Apart from going back to the sellers of the board and hassling them for another leash plug, the body board leash plug fitting is the best suggestion!
Poor product, seller repair or replacement should be obligatory! Squeezing in that one surf could void all warranty especial if you get water damage!

looks like they use the typical bodyboard leash screw-in plug. I would figure the company stocks only one type of plug. But I guess you're right that the hole on top is quite small, just the size for the screw that goes into the fin. Is the hole on the bottom wider ?

And by "too big", do you mean wide or long ? Even in the video they say you may have to snip off a bit with pliers.
