Got some time ago these cheap foam boards from Decathlon.
Not the best board in the world I'd assume but still for me (beginner) are fine plus it's more than paid for if I had to rent one.

Now issue is it had a small puncture hole in the foam top, my fault, hit it against a nail head on a wood pole walking out of beach.
Didn't noticed right way and it seems to have got a bit of water inside, when I leave it in the car it now sizzles like a hot chestnut.

I'd like to seal that hole to prevent more water to go inside, but I have tried a small test with UHU FoamSafe glue and it started to react with the foam core. Not the one outside but the one inside.
So now I'm a bit concerned to what to use.

Any tips on what to repair/seal the hole on this foam board?

EEEEEEEK , water inside a foam board inside a car with heat, de-lamination is a highly likely event.
The EPS foam has spaces between the foam cells , these fill with water by surface tension. Result heavier board, secondly under heat the water expands and steams up between the cells and gets under the surface layer, vapour pressure forces it off its bond to the core.
The same material is in body boards, get a solar body board repair kit, plug the hole. Start finding out what resins ( epoxy solar being the most common) other paints resins , solvents and chemicals can completely destroy the core.

BTW leaving any board damaged or not in a hot car can destroy it in rapid time. Australian summers do this easily!

from your description, this does not sound like anything more than a small hole. Here's what I would do (and it is cheap, too).

1. place board in warm place for two days to get moisture out (if any got in)
2. fill hole with clear or white silicone glue (not endorsing any brand, but here's a photo. You can get this stuff in automobile parts and hardware stores)

A hot glue gun works great for foam board repairs

I've seen both hot glue and bathroom sealant recommended to repair foamies.

Depends on the damage.
Used hot glue gun, save session, blobb and gorilla tape.

Blobb is not compatible with all boards. Should check with manufacturers or blobb distributors.

Hot glue gun is really annoying. Finger burns, etc

UHU is a popular glue in Indo....are you here in Bali? If so, take it to Naruki and they'll sort that out including drying it out for you for just under 10 bucks usd.
