I had a set of fake carbonhoney fins that get to flexible and nearly broke down a few days ago.. so i get me a new pair of fins from shapers the Lee Wilson model... now they show
10 points on drive
6 points on flex
6 points on release
8 points on pivot
Can someone translate that in how that effect my surfing ? :yearght:
Im not a really a powerfull surfer at this level will fins anyway have any effect in my surf? I ll surf perfected waves the nxt half year.
ll i notice a difference with the fake ones?
If they ll be from the futures brand wich fin number they would have? (They have good explenation on their website)

I saw those on the buy and sell....it was a good deal. I have those fins....lots of rake, wide base for drive. They were designed for indo and getting down the line as fast as possible. Think balangan and how quick you need to be to stay in front of the wave on the clean face; those fins were made to help you achieve that. I'm not that good and I can feel the difference as compared to more upright wct fins. Leave those in the board and surf it; good fins made for here.

Amazing how they feel and how they effect my board.. they make me go true sections i could only dream of..they give amazing drive and speed from pumping...
I never tought a fin could make that much of a diffrence..
I love theme straight away

I put the Lee Wilsons into my smaller wave board today just for fun....usually I use a more upright fin, K 2.1s in that board but there was a little bit of a wave today so I wanted to try my small wave board with some rakey fins to see what would happen.....improved drive and speed is what happened and I flew today....really good fins for drive in good surf!

From the website: (adding this because I like the bit about death pits.... :)

The LW is a collaboration between one of Bali’s most talented surfers Lee Wilson and Shapers.
The LW is a high performance fin design to match Lee’s radical surfing and Indo’s death pits. The raked template and wide fin base provides a lot drive and control, whilst the fins thin tip and smaller centre fin reduce drag, increasing speed and allows for quick fin release when desired. The LW is fast surfing fin that suits powerful waves to muchy beach breaks.

Ye men im still full in love with theme :D
But il thinking to buy a second pair of fins.. this ones feel abit hard to make turns like a sharp cutback?! Is t just my mind or do you notice that also... i read u surfed many diffrent fins.. flr example a WTC fin or a jordy does it really make a huge diffrence in the turn ability.. ll it make my board more loose or is it just a commericial thing? I only tried plastic bull*** , fake honey combs and the lee wilson set.. so a revieuw about that ll be very apprecieted bro :)

I speak about waves under the 5ft mark..
Surfing this waves on the lee wilsons make the board abit stiff?!

What in your opinion makes "Plastic" fins bull*** ?

The LW's have a pretty wide base and lots of rake.....really drivey and good for stronger waves. WCT's are more upright (like FCS k 2.1's) and loosen up the board.

Never tried the Jordy's but the base on those is wide as h3ll.....would imagine they are also very drivey.

Go buy this board for the fins and sell the board after:

Thx but im using futures..
That was the wtc fin right?
I like the lee wilson fins alot when its big and barreling the drive and stability is amazing only they make huge turns wich sucks on 3-4 ft waves .. its really hard for me to perform a proper cutback on theme you reconize that?.. im 72kilo and they should be for people from 75-90 kilo so maybe its just abit of tomuch fin for me?i ll like to try something more snappy when its abit smaller.. if i find the wtc second hand for a good price i ll like to get theme.. just to try it out and have 2 sets wich is never bad... or if i could find the magic one inbetween theme..

That link is for futures (check the little F on the fins) but I saw that Juju contacted you and has a set for a good price; I bought a board from him awhile back....he's good people, should get those WCT's he has...it's a good price. WCTs are more upright and are quicker in turns but have less drive which is OK in beach breaks where there is a lot of power anyway in the wave....should try them out, then you'll have uprights and rakey fins depending on conditions. I have that same fin as well and use them frequently, usually on high tide beach breaks when the wave holds up and isn't breaking super fast.
