Hi, Im new here, this is my 1st.
Im from Malaysia.

My board got damaged last month and I just noticed it this week.
Seemed like water got in the foam through the holed ding. Wonder if its repairable?
Thanks alot.

Selamat datang , Not only is it repairable, it should have been done months ago, the damage is worsened by the foam that has rotted.

It looks like it has Malayan jungle fungus!

Any split or crack needs to be repaired promptly as water soaks the foam yellows it and makes it rot the board becomes heavier.

The board looks an older one so a good board to learn repairs.

From what I know repair supplies may be hard to get in Malaysia, a boat supply shop could help if there are no surf shops to get resin. Solar resin will do temporary fixes on the smaller cracks the top pictured one probably needs a resin and catalyst type repair. + some foam .

If there is a community of surfers there may be a guy who does repairs.
Good luck

Hey guys,

I do not want to create another topic, so will post here. Do you think it is worth repair? I can get this board nearly for nothing and willing to renovate it myself. The reason being not just to save money, but have fun and enjoy the process :) the question if it is actually repairable :) it is not snapped or something. but there is obvious water damage and probably delam... Thank you!

For that board tidak apa apa, if you want to learn repairs a good way to go!

Might even be business opportunity! There are plenty of how to repair videos, there is no real value for repairs for that board other than the learning experience.

Brown foam means heavier than usual and waterlogged!

Hey Jaffa!

Thank you for your reply :) actually I ended up buying this one for only $50! You are right the goal is to learn hoe to repair boards and then one day eventually build up my own one. Yea it is waterlogged, but do think it will not be rideable? It does not feel heavy at all actually :) I think to repair it and put as much effort as needed and then keep it for some time at least. It is a good board from a decent Byron Bay (QLD, AUS) shaper! :D I like it already!
