Is this ding a problem?

Hey all,

My friend let me borrow a board but when i took a look at it it had this ding in it.
Well i think its a ding :P
Im going on a holiday tomorrow morning with it and not sure what to do with it.
to leave it or to fix/tape it
all help and advice will be appreciated as soon as possible

Yes , it needs a fix beyond tape as it will suck water. Friend's board, honour requires the fix. :D

With these fiberglass board u could have made it yourself while transportation and storage.

Even minor bumping of door handle can cause it.

I would have asked my friend whether he minds my repair. If not, I would have fixed it with solarez. It took me forty mins to do a bit bigger ding by myself. Not that hard. Surf shops charge 30-40 dollars for that repair. Anyway, it is way cheaper than rental of fiberglass board for several days.

Fast & easy fix to get surfing: fill ding with clear epoxy and resin. Use sun cure, if you don't want to mix the epoxy and resin.

Pretty fix requiring more than 10 minutes: fill ding with mixed epoxy and resin, then coat with glass. I'd use two layers of 2 ounce glass. Remember, rotate layers 90 degrees to increase fiber strength.
