Walden Mega Magic

Postby watamelon » Tue Oct 20, 2015 7:58 pm

Hi! Any former or current owners of an 8'0 Walden Mega Magic here? Planning to have a board shaped locally after it (it's quite difficult to get a hold of one from where I am), so I was wondering if you guys could give your thoughts about it, i.e. wave-catch and paddle-wise. I've been surfing for almost a year, but still consider myself just coming out of the beginner stage as I could only get to surf an average of 2 weekends a month. Ideally, I'd buy a 9'0 but don't have a car to carry that long of a board all the time so I have to sacrifice a bit of length.
Info on the internet says it's 23 1/2 on width and 3 5/8 thick.

Thanks!

I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

Your local shaper can mimic the dimensions / outline, but not the bottom contours and chines. That's what makes the "Magic". 3 5/8" is a lot of rail if you deal with white water bumps. 23 1/2" gets hard to sit down on if your small.

Do you surf beach or reef break ?
