Advice for a set fin repair?

Postby jal21jal » Sun Oct 11, 2015 4:55 am

Hey guys, my most recent, and only post was about repairing my entire surf board.. After taking all advice I repaired my dings dents etc. but after continuous searching I can't find anywhere online about repairing a set fin.. My board is 36 yrs old and doesn't have a fin box.. It's a set fin and I know I don't have the tools or skill to fix my fin.. If anyone can point me in he right direction, I'm looking for these things:
1. General price for set fin repair
2. Will I need a box or can it be repaired as is
3. Where would a good place to look be? ( online or shops )( SoCal )
4. Will it be worth repairing

You can do it yourself as above or you can find a shop. Price you'll have to find out yourself. big H is in bali I'm in Australia, how can we know local prices? You also have to go to the shops or hardware to get the resin and stuff. Nothing beat getting to know local surf shops and shapers!
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

If you do it yourself then you have to remove the fine completely and sand down the resin to the glass then reattach the fin
