Wetsuit Advice

Postby eli96 » Mon Aug 10, 2015 11:06 pm

Ok, so I am just looking for a bit of advice on wetsuits. :) I already own a 2/3mm full length wetsuit for when I'm bodyboarding or surfing but last weekend I felt too warm in it. I live in England and the sea temperature was around 17 Degrees C. I was looking into getting a shortie for this time of year and, as I tend to feel the cold on my arms and body more so than on my legs, I have found a few 2mm long sleeved, short bottomed wetsuits. Is this too thin for these temperatures this time of year or do you think I would be able to cope? :? ( I mean I get that is does depend on tolerance but im just curious to know if this would be an awful idea full stop). Also I don't stay in the sea for hours and hours at a time, maybe 1 hr 30 maximum? :D

It'll be a short window where it's suitable (August, basically), but a long-sleeved 2mm spring suit will be fine for an hour to two as long as you're not paddling out at dawn.
You'll probably find me surfing, but if not, I'll probably be in the photography studio

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I wouldn't dare to wear a spring suit any earlier or later than around August time.

Why not just go for a good quality 3/2?
