Hi all,
I am new to surfing and was wondering what you all clean your boards with?
Is there a favorite cleaning agent that you prefer over others?
Thanks in advance for the info!

Just rinse your board after surfing. Wax will look dirty after repeated use, scrap off and re-wax.
You can use decreasing liquid to really remove it , but it is a nasty chemical so better not to.
Surf well with a dirty board.

Good to know! This is very helpful, Jaffa1949. Thanks and if anyone has any other cleaning/maintenance tips, I'd love to hear it! I'll be sure and surf dirty!

Non cutting car polish can be used on the bottom to help you go faster.
There used to be an advertisement in Australia, "Surf washes cleaner, whiter and brighter" so no,worries

here are my tips
1. you don't need to re-wax very often. if your wax is looking dirty, just put some new wax on top and - all white again!
2. if you do decide to take the wax off, a plastic paint scraper works well. Leave the board somewhere hot for a few minutes and then start scraping. If you want to get all of the wax off, then turps works well for the last bits (just a tiny bit is all that is needed) or some people swear by putting flour on the bits of wax at the end and scrubbing them off with paper towels. However if you have a crack, don't use turps because it will melt the foam.
3. however, another tip - you don't need to get all of the wax off because you are putting more wax on. So don't get too obsessed with getting every bit of wax.
Otherwise, there is nothing on a board that will rust or needs much attention. check your leg rope connections and that your fin isn't falling out and you are ready to go

Sooo helpful! Love the old Aussie ad: "Surf washes cleaner, whiter and brighter!"
And ... I love the no-muss/no-fuss - 'wax on top of wax' cleaning formula.
Thanks guys - I'll let you know how it goes <3

My method of cleaning my board is to take it out in the ocean as often as I can and if you can catch a few waves while you are soaking it, then that's even better.

I noticed the more newer you are to surfing the more you clean your board. The further you get in surfing the less you tend to keep your board spotless. Kinda like a having a brand new car, washing waxing polishing every weekend. After awhile, ahh, who cares. I haven't taking off the wax of my current board in 3 years.

Don't forget to since your fin plugs and check the seasonally incase they are corroding/rusting, more the bit where the fin key goes...I've suffered a couple of issues from this.
