Hey i find my 8 ft soft surfboard gets damaged easily, cuts scratches dings. I think most of this stuff happens transporting it to the beach and back.
Is this normal?

it is a softboard, so its, you know, soft.
But they should be a bit tougher. Do you have a board bag? If not, get one.

What's getting scratched and cuts, the sponge deck or the vinyl bottom skin ? To say your softboard got "dings" I don't understand. Are you transporting it in the back of your truck or in the station wagon.
Not to insult you, but your not dragging it to the beach are you ? I know a girl who dragged her fiberglass board 1 1/2 blocks to the beach on the sidewalk because she couldn't carry it. Must made that squash tail into a pin tail.

I have the costco wavestorm, the soft top gets scuffed or even dents along the edges of the board. Its like whenever it hits a wall or going through a doorway....

Costco wavestorms are pretty much a bottom end product and their quality is in response to their price.
But awareness of your board, any board, as you move through doorways etc. will save you dents dings scratches both to your board and your furnishings.
Your friends will thank you too if you can learn landside board control for their limbs and extremities.
Walk and surf with awareness
