Newbie question about waxing

Postby Mk2James » Tue Sep 23, 2014 4:48 pm

Hey, ive been surfing for a few weeks now. the surfing its self is going great, im picking it up very well and loving every minute of it.

BUT.. There is just one little thing.. Im still new to the sport and have a 7 foot foam board. I love the board its great fun for starting out on but now and again while im under the board paddling out or paddling to to catch a wave the board seems to slide around a little underneath me while im laid on it..

I know wax helps that but with it being a foam board i dont want to damage it by waxing it.

Any ideas?

Thanks, James.

all my sponge boards have wax ( and most I put on a tail pad too !! ) The great thing about sponge boards is they do not need too much wax. Just hold the wax bar on edge and make a couple criss-cross "slash" mark lines where you think you need some traction. Don't need to make circles. More like Wolverine leaving some claw marks.

I rather scrub damage the deck of my board , then have a bad wipeout because I slipped off.
