Rusty 8' board, What would this board be best for?

I'm trying to get an inexpensive board to learn on...and was looking for a longboard, but I found this 8' Rusty board for only $85, and was wondering if it would be an ok board to learn on. Its 8 foot long, 22" wide, and has thruster fins. I know this isn't a long board, but do think this board would be ok for learning on? I can paddle and pop up pretty well considering I've only gone out a few times.

I tried looking at Rusty to find a similar surfboard to compare this too, and the only one that looked similarly shaped this size was called the 'desert island' and was said to be an all-purpose board.

If the board is in fair condition and the re-glass job on the deck is sound this wouldn't be too bad!
Reasonable basic all rounder.
A be aware thought; I would be looking underneath on the bottom to see if there are any cracks or dents that run side to side in the same direction as the repair on top , if they do an look something like a crease. The board will break easily.

This board will be a lot more twitchy than any foamy and less so than your really short board.

Thanks for the response,

The glass job in top was apparently just for something on the deck, the bottom shows no creases or stress marks in that area. There are a few small dings that I'm going to fill with some sun-cure.

I'm going to give it a shot, its the biggest board that can fit in my vehicle without having to be strapped down to the roof racks, and it came with a bag (more of a board sock) as well. Seems thick and long enough to have a good bit more float than my other shortboard. Worst comes to worse I'll end up getting a longboard, but I think I'll have some fun trying this out.

Would this be considered a type of funboard/hybrid? It didn't seem to fit into any other category.

It was probably a surfboard before anybody thought to use those labels and was somebody's go to everyday board.
A good basic do just about anything shape
