Shortboard , bodyboard or hybrid?

Hi there, we were at whitesands beach in Wales last week on and off good surf 3-6ft on Saturday. While we were there there were some guys on what appeared to be a hybrid shortboard/bodyboard. it was about 5ft long 18 inches wide pointed at the tip and had hand grips on it at the sides. The boards were red with what looked like a big 'G' as the maker. They looked as though they were made of foam. Some had fins/skegs fitted but the board rode as a bodyboard. Any ideas as to what they are. I've asked a few suppliers but without an image they don't seem to be able to help. It looked similar to a smaller rescue board as used by the lifeguards but it was obviously a 'fun board'. They rode easy in the surf but we seem to drawing a blank as to what they are!
Lost the phone with the pic so no help there. Any help much appreciated.

They are soft board, nipper surf club mini rescue boards and surf sled which are towed behind jet skis in surf comps, that will answer your question.

...you are indeed a legend! They are similar if not the same! It's a junior nipper board.
Thanks for your help going contact the surf shop and see what they can do.

I think they might be what is called a " shred stick", my surf shop had one for sale, I guess you could use it as a bodyboard and (seems improbable) as a surfboard too....

Lol we use those and close out days where you can get shacked abd not worry about your board
