Need board advice

[biarritz surf]

Hello,
So i have been surfing for a little while with a longboard now and i was wondering what should be my next board, a fish or a shortboard? I live in the Biarritz (southwest of france) and was wondering what board would be the most useful one in the conditions i live around (usually 3-4 feet but can range much bigger). Also i am 6"1' and about 150 pounds.
