Hi guys, I'm considering getting a molded epoxy version of the ever popular ...Lost Scorcher: http://www.lostsurfboards.net/surfboards/scorcher/ and had some questions about the material:

Are molded epoxy surfboards made overseas?

Are they lighter than conventional PU?

Are they more durable then conventional PU?

Thanks.

Answers:
1. Yes, unless you are overseas. Then the answer is no.
2. Usually.
3. Yes. They take knocks noticeably better.

I feel like maybe I shoudn't go for it if they're Asian popouts and should just get a normal PU board from a local shaper instead.

I don't know where you're based, but the Placebo boards here in NZ are not 'pop outs' as far as I know, but are a shiny Tuflite (or similar) construction. They look like decent boards to me. I'd be happy to ride one.
