Hi All,

I am looking for a new leash. I want one with double swivel and a key pocket. There is so much choice in terms of brands etc. Are any better than others or shall I just go with one that ticks the boxes?

The board is 7ft 3 and im looking at an 8ft 7mm leash. Is that long enough or would you go to 9ft? Im still learning so will be in smaller waves and falling in a lot.

Really look forward to your responses.

Dan

I would just make sure you get a leash that has brass swivels at each end, and has a removable rail saver that is double sewn with good craftsmanship. You can tell the cheap leashes and you usually get what you pay for. The length and thickness is up to each person, but remember the longer and thicker your leash is the more it drags in the water. That is why you see a lot of experienced surfers using comp leashes. They have minimal drag. Beginners usually need a little more thickness until they learn to keep their board with them more consistently. Hope that helps!
