New Board

Finally pulled my finger out and got the shaping tools back out this weekend. Well actually i injured myself kiting on friday whilst sciving off work so couldn't kite on saturday so had no choice really.
Yes i am sorry it's another kiteboard but its really still a surfboard, so here are a couple of pics of the progress so far.

Triple stringer is so that the pressure from my heels won't transfer into the foam and crush the foam over time like it always does on all surfboard style kiteboards.

Looks like you've had a busy weekend.
Oh, I've informed the RAC about the stolen sign.

Cool board... saw a guy turn up on my local a few months ago, on a massive day, kiting waves. Looked like proper fun.

Thanks jaffa. The deck has now been glassed, 3x4oz. Bit of extra strength is always good in a kiteboard.
Started on the fins last night. I like to use lokbox as you can move the fins fore and aft in their boxes allowing you to loosen or striffen up the way the board carves.
I use a router for making the box holes very carefully by hand. Thwen the boxes getting glued in with a mix of resin and glass bubbles and then once there stuck in you glass over the top (having masked off the fin slots) for strenght and once the resin goes green you trim out the slots.

Very cool, Kitie. Really appreciate all the photos so we can see shapes and how things are put together. You have quite a talent, I'd say. :P

I'm proud to say I taught him everything he knows.
Very sweet board. And yes the pics are super helpful for a newbie like me. I just hope that anything I make looks even half as clean as that.

Fibreglass patches over the fin boxes ready for resin.

Note masking tape to stop resin ingress into the box.

Nice one! Interesting triple stringer blank.
