Postby wormybear » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:31 am

how hard is it to glass a set of fins back onto a board? i only have $40 to spend on anything that floats for myself and the only thing i can find is for and comes with fins that have to be put back on and has kids doodling all over it. should i go for it?

Thanks to everyone hear for all the advice. I told the quy what you good people told me, and I was able to get the guy to agree to trade for it. So now it's only gonna cost me a rod and reel that I have had forever. Well, that and whatever it will cost to get the fins put back on. I'm still on the lookout for a good vintage longboard for around $100 in the Pensacola area.

OK Wormy you've caught your first board, pictures of your trade as your saga is now beginning to get interesting

Yes I did. And I will definitely post some pics so everyone can laugh at me and my new "board". It may be the lamest thing to ever float on water but I will definitely cherish it like it cost a grand. It will definitely be interesting, you are afterall reading the posts of a guy who purposefully uses 1950's fishing equipment. But I really do hope that I can keep getting awesome advice from the good folks here. Thanks again everyone.

I started surfing in 1958 and if you can get hold of anything from that era you will be sitting on a gold mine, think balsa for starters asfoam was a rarity!
