My first Wetsuit (sizing help)

Hi everyone, Im planning to start surfing soon, and was wanted some advice on full body wetsuits, ive done quite a bit of research and have decided that i wanted to pay about 200-250 for a decent one instead of a cheapie.

but the problem now is, ive been losing weight for the past 8 months, originally i was over 300 but now im at 245. And i plan to continue to lose weight till about 180-200. my questions is about if i buy a wetsuit, would i have to get a new one after i lose the weight?

ive heard that the newer suits have an incredible expansion and stretch, would that work for me? im hoping i dont have to spend another 200-250 anytime soon because of my weight loss. Would it be a better idea to get a cheap one for now (under $100) and get the nice one after?

Also, if the new suits WOULD work, which ones would you recommend? any particular brand or style i should look into?

Id appreciate all and any advice/comments,

THANKS GUYS!

If you are losing weight the way you say, I'd go the cheap route first. A wettie that fits you now won't do the same job, -50lbs later. They need to be as tight as they can without cutting off blood flow or being too restrictive. What temp water you going to be surfing? Any of the name brands should be decent. O'Neill, Billabong, Rip Curl, Quiksilver, Xcel, Snugg. Just get one that fits.

Hi SpaceEater, welcome to Surfing Waves!

Good for you on the weight loss, really great job there
You would have to get a new wetsuit if you drop that amount of weight, so either buy a cheapie / second hand on for the time being and get a decent one when you've hit your target weight.
When choosing a wetsuit, it needs to be suitable for the water temperature you'll be surfing in, and it needs to have a good fit. Always always try a wetsuit on before you buy.
