Hi Guys,

Any help or point in the right direction is appreciated...

I want to swap out my fins with Pro Teck soft fins.
http://www.surfcohawaii.com/Pro-Teck-Fins-s/26.htm

To start with, what type of fins do I have? Can I replace these on my own?

If I can replace them on my own, which article or post is right for me to follow for these fins?

Thank You!

Do you have a screwdriver and a fin key?

If so yes!

Just clean up the screw with some lubricant ( WD40) give the screws some time to unfreeze, and unscrew :!:

You can adjust the centre fin to suit what you want to do! (read the fin primer)

The side fins are not a box I'm familiar with but the last picture seems to show the fin able to be levered down at the front and lifted up and out at the back, I'd still use WD40 and I'd look for grub screws somewhere along the box just in case.
Failing that, if the maker is still in existence phone them they will remember the system and can advise you.

Looks like your side fins are the official fin system. These fins were used on lots of top end boards for years in the 90s. If that is the fin system you have, the best way to remove them is to wrap a towel around the tip of the fin (top third) and and gently pop the tip of the fin upward from the back of the fin. You must be careful to wrap the towel around the fin so you do not cut yourself on the trailing edges of the fin. You could also gently use a rubber mallet if you are worried about cutting your hand. Be careful not to hit the fin to hard or you may damage the fin box. The fins should come out without damaging the boxes. If I remember right official may have also had a fin that came out the opposite way. If you have trouble from the rear, try the opposite. Let me know if it works. Protec fins used to make a replacement. You will have to check with them to see if they still make an official fin replacement.

I think I can remember Official Fins they weren't that common in Australia but I saw a few way back when.
How's Oregon? Spring's on its way for you!
The fall swells are on their way to our coast :D :D :D :woot:

I hope so. A week ago we had 6 plus inches of snow on the beach. This is extremely rare for the Oregon Coast. I am ready for some sunny spring weather, and clean surf conditions.

They look like future fins or at least the box does but there should be a screw at the front of the box for futures.
