Best way to dry wetsuit overnight indoor?

Postby StormRiderHB » Thu Sep 22, 2011 10:46 pm

Besides hanging your wetsuit, is there an effective way to dry it overnight indoors?

I did find a hanger with a build in fan, not too excited about spending $30 on this item. I was thinking just using a regular fan and pointed to my wetsuit.

If your refrigerator is old, and has the radiator fins and condensers on the back, you can hang it up there, thats how I dry my socks and underwear during the winter.

Make sure your wetsuit is inside out, that way the inside will dry quicker, and it will be easier to put on. You can also turn up the heat in the house, especially if it is in the bathroom where you can shut the door and get it really warmed up. That is the best way to dry it quick indoors. If it is windy outside, that will usually dry it quickly as well. I like to dry my wetsuit outside when the offshore winds are blowing, inside when it is cold outside.

I buy two and alternate :D. It doesn't really cost any more apart from the initial investment.

I wouldn't leave fans on nor turning the heat up. Both of those will cost either time or time+money.

I bought a clothes drying rack and I set it up in the bathtub with the suit hanging over the entirety. This helps to expose the maximum surface area of the suit and protects is from wear on the shoulders that can happen with a hanger. Then, apply a fan. I've found that if I set it up inside out when I get home late morning it'll be dry that way, then I turn it right side out and let it hang overnight and it'll be completely dry in the AM.

tbh, i just hang it insideout into my bathroom and switch on the vapor fan..
next morning, its allways 90% dry.. - turn it around and the outside will be dry within half an hour just by lying around...

Inside out, on a coat hanger in a shower cubicle in the bathroom :) Works for me.

Roll it in a towel first ( and stand on it ) before you hang it up gets rid of loads of the water and shouldnt need to turn the heating up or fans should just dry over night ..:-) or like ricky said .. buy 2 Always good if one ever needs sending away for repair ...
