going out with a group surfing, any ideas on how a big group can get changed on the beach into wetsuits without all the trouble of having to find somewhere secluded to change or equally, flashing everyone else on the beach? what do you all do? do you have any kind of changing tents we could look into?

Hi sally, welcome to Surfing Waves
Getting into a wetsuit is easy, just have a bikini or something on before hand. Getting out can be the tricky part.
I'm just careful with the towel, and that's how a lot of people get changed after a surf. ( It's easier if you wear something under your wetsuit).
You could consider something like this -> http://tinyurl.com/44qja2q - doubles as a towel and goes some way to protect your modesty.

When getting out: Bring a medium sized plastic bin. Use this to stand in while you work your wetsuit down to your waist. Then apply towel over your waist, and perform the towel tango (this actually has made it's way into urbandictionary.com). Your wet suit will be protected from the sand by the plastic bin, then put your pants on under the towel and you're good to go. I then put a lid on the plastic bin, throw it into my car and rinse it off in the shower at home.

Of course this is slightly more complicated if you're a female. But most women I've surfed with wear a bikini top underneath their suit.

one female to another, I come to the beach with my swimsuit on under my clothes and pull the wetsuit on over it. At the end I use the black poncho Surf Patrol linked to change out of my wet stuff into dry clothes. I also use an $8 camping water bag with a shower attachment to rinse off the salt before changing :)
