This is part gripe... part question.
So I just bought a used 9'6 Robert August longboard. Awesome board, and pretty much got it for a steal.
So luckily, the day bag that I have is a 9'6 bag that I've been using for my old 9'2 p.o.s board... well, of course I'm thinking I want to keep the newer RA board in the bag as it's a much nicer board. However, when I slide the new board into the bag I find that I have about an inch of tail that doesnt fit comfortably into the bag. I mean I really tug on the bag (lol) and massage the zipper I can get it to zip over the tail, but it's super tight and I'm worried that the zipper being so tightly stretched over the tail might damage the glass.
Has anyone else had this happen? I know that no board is "exactly" cut to a uniform length, but you think the bag company would realize this give you a little buffer.
So, next question... Anyone have a good lead of decent, inexpensive board bags? I dont need a hardcore travel bag, just something with a little padding to protect it on day trips. I was thinking of just getting a Sock bag for it, but hell... they are almost as expensive as a full on day bag.
Thanks
