How thick of a wetsuit should i get? New Jersey

i live in new jersey and im buying a wetsuit to start surfing from about mid april to late june. I was wondering how think of a wetsuit should i get. i usually get pretty cold easily so i was thinking of getting a 4/3 but than someone told me it would be to warm to wear that in may.

A 4/3 would be too warm I think. But since you're somebody who gets cold easily, I think you should be O.K. in the 4/3 wetsuite...

Hey

We'll I would advice you since you get cold fast: buy a 4.5 or 4.6... so that you know: water, even during hot periods still can be cold!!!

I would talk to a few of the local surf shops in your area and ask what most the guys are wearing for wetsuits. You then could make a better judgment on best wetsuit thickness for yourself. We mostly wear 5mm wetsuits in Oregon for average water temperatures between 49-56 degrees Fahrenheit. Some do wear 4/3mm wetsuits, so I guess it depends on the person. Do you know your average water temp range?
